My opinion is to double train in armor usage as soon as possible and shoot for atleast Metal Breastplate. I'll explain a bit more about armor, shortly.

The armors' DUrability and STrength have been modified with the following criteria. If your current armors' possessed unique DUSTR that variated from the baseline, the system has automatically normalized the items according to a predefined criteria (of which is not public information). I direct you to the in-game NEWS 2 15 for official advanced indications of the change in progress. Armors have generally lower valuations than weapons because they are not wholly made of the material component as weapons. I point out an obvious aspect that people have seemed to miss; you have to get HURT in order for a worn armor clash to occur. In which case, you will be more likely to DIE before your armor has degraded to the point it will undergo final a state of Castastrophic Failure (CF). Dead people don't clash.
